The Republic of Texas History Center
A Vision for the 21st Century

The Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) has owned the property on the corner of San Marcos Street and East 9th Street since May, 2013. By building the Republic of Texas Museum and business offices on this property, DRT will create the Republic of Texas History Center; a visit to two museums – Republic of Texas Museum and Children’s Interactive Museum; as well as providing a state-of-the-art Genealogical Research Center dedicated to tracing lineage to the Republic of Texas timeframe to assist descendants in proving lineage for membership into the DRT and CRT.

The Center will provide a larger, more appropriate setting for exhibits, educational programs, conferences, and other festivities. In this way, DRT will better serve the State of Texas and visitors seeking to learn about and appreciate the fascinating history of the State of Texas.

The March 25th Grand Opening was a huge success!!!  Please click here for pictures.
